The Dark Knight

I mean...wow
Many people were raving about how heath ledger was amazing and should have got a posthumous Oscar. I admit shamefully that i was cynical about his performance. Theres no denying hes a great actor but was his joker character really all that good? were people just being sentimental to his memory. I now feel like a terrible person. He was amazing, one of the best charecters ever, i mean wow. He really put the emphasis on deranged psychopath and it payed off.
Before i begin this i want to say i am not a baman fanboy, i do not own the comics (more an anime guy) so this review is objective.
I say this because Its overwhelmingly positive.
The film some 2 and a half hours long flew past every time I saw the ending on the horizon it was snatched away to my great relief I might add and when it did come i was hugely satisfied. I have decided to make this spoiler free as i will always try to keep these things. Now for a more in depth look.
Anyone who's seen a poster for this baby knows about the sheer quantitiy of talent in this film. All of them are on top form with special mentions going to Bale Freeman and of course Ledger. However Bale really needs to change his Bat-voice as it grates on your soul after awhile, its far to croaky.
The many sub plots of the film are really well done although some of them a little to subtle when the rest of the film is so engrossing. The Bats realization that he is not a conventional hero was may favorite but one of the main characters downfall was brilliantly realized also.
In conclusion an amazing film and a definite classic taking the Batman Begins ethos and expanding on it for a much more dark and adult theme.
On a final note my guess as to why I feel so surprised by it. The film lacks direction in the best way. Most films are something goes wrong, we work out what needs to be done and we do it. TDK has no obvious pointers to where the story heads next, and the main twist left me astonished. Be warned this film takes no prisoners and pulls no punches

Wall.e and cars...yes im seroius

A quick light hearted update to begin with.
Yesterday over my cousins i played Wall.e and Cars, and i was plesantly surprised on both counts.
Wall.e isn't the best game you'll ever play but the first three levels were a fun and slightly tougher experience than i expected.
Cars is terribly boring but however deserves a mention as the wii controls are solid, almost like a cheap Mario kart....except boring
That starts of this wonderful day of blogging!

I believe I have no shame

Shameless plugs for my short stories must boost readership and plus books are entertainment right?

Unreal Tournement 3

Today i bought UT3 which has kept me salivating for some time.
Gladly its very satisfying. The multi player is solid as ever, if you've played an unreal before you know what to expect. this time though the maps and weapons are beautifully rendered and the vehicles are innovative. Ive fallen out of favor with the series since 2004 as my PC isnt good enough to run any powerhouses, so im not sure how much is new.
Warfare Challenges you to capture a set of strategic points along the map in order to make the enemy's core vulnerable. These points are prime nodes. There are also supply nodes which offer bonuses such as turrets weapons and vehicles. In one stage it bestows a mighty leviathon on you, meaning pure 0wn4g3.
You got you death match Team death match CTF and VCTF. All standard except for VCTF which mixes things up by giving each team a whole range of Machines to slaughter with. All of the above are great fun and well, satisfying.
The single player however is ripped straight from the multi player which is a real shame as there could've been a great storyline and some truly fun missions. Also the bots are annoying, not stupid but annoying. Your team will mindlessly stick to one objective no matter what, the enemies are psychic and are far better organized than your team. however this is a minor flaw and with some careful ordering can be overcome.
Oh and a special mention to the redeemer which is basically a portable Nuke that is my favourite weapon for along time.

Assasins Creed im sorry

Just a quick post to say that the last to missions on assasins blew me away.
they take all the good parts from the game and paste them into about hour and a half game play
truly amazing
and the ending has actually made me want the sequel badly

unfortunately ive traded it in for UT3 now which I will now post upon
